Pregnancy requires additional nutritional support, as mum is literally ‘eating for two’. Optimising nutrition during pregnancy increases the chance of a healthy pregnancy and birth. It helps bridge the ‘nutrition gap’ between the diet and what is needed for optimum support in pregnancy, which increases nutritional needs by up to 50%. Pregnancy particularly increases requirements for iron (for healthy blood and oxygenation), iodine (for brain and cognitive development), calcium and vitamin K2 (for healthy bones), and vitamin D (for immunity).

Pregna-Plan provides the government recommended levels of folate, essential for the baby’s growth and development, supporting a healthy pregnancy and preventing neural tube defects, including spina bifida. Methyl folate is the most bio-effective form of folate and is much easier for the body to use. Pregna-Plan also uses beta carotene, which can be converted to vitamin A (vitamin A is generally not recommended to supplement directly in pregnancy) as required.

Pregna-Plan now includes even more bio-effective ‘bisglycinate’ forms of magnesium, zinc and iron, which are very well-absorbed and used by the body. It is also enriched with added phytonutrients - ginger, lutein, and blueberry. Lutein, a carotenoid found in dark green and orange coloured fruits, supports the baby’s eye health. Ginger has a long history of traditional use for soothing the gut, especially in relation to the nausea (‘morning sickness’) that can occur in pregnancy. Blueberries are rich in antioxidants.

Recommended Use:
