5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) is a naturally-occurring amino acid which is directly converted into serotonin, an important neurotransmitter that supports energy and mood (sometimes called our 'feelgood' neurotransmitter). We make serotonin from the amino acid tryptophan using magnesium and vitamin B6 as supporting nutrients. Serotonin is then also converted to the sleep hormone melatonin at night, to help facilitate sleep.

5HTP Plus contains 50mg of 5-HTP sourced from the Griffonia simplicifolia plant with 50mg of magnesium from citrate and 5mg of vitamin B6 (as active Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate or P-5-P), both of which support the normal functioning of the nervous system.

5-HTP Plus Recommended Use

1–2 capsules daily preferably before bedtime with a carbohydrate snack, or as directed by a physician.

Warnings

This product is not suitable for pregnant or lactating women, or those taking specific supplements containing phenylalanine. Do not take alongside SSRI antidepressant medication. Keep cool, dry and out of direct sunlight.
