Each capsule will provide a culture of four billion live bacteria (live viable dehydrated bacteria).

A one-a-day dose is ideal for maintenance. This can be increased to one capsule three times daily in acute situations.

The capsule is administered orally. As it reaches the stomach, a gel barrier forms to protect the active ingredient from the stomach’s acidity. Once in the intestines, the gel dissipates to ensure a controlled release of the active ingredients which maximises the product’s efficacy at the ideal site of action.

When should you take this probiotic supplement?
Fos-A-Dophilus is particularly recommended for people over 40 years of age as it is higher in Bifidobacteria, which colonise the large intestine and are less easily replenished in those over the age of 40. For younger adults we generally recommend our ‘Acidophilus Plus’ supplement.
